I saw Transformers last night and I thought to myself:

Wow, Transformers are F*cking Awesome!

As I sat in the the theater this list of 10 reasons popped into my head:

10. Alien Visitors

  • Bad Aliens come to attack us, Good Aliens come to defend us. Unlike humans, they have a concept of cleaning up their own mess. Awesomeness.

9. Quantum Computing Robots

  • They have quantum computing capability; operating with bio-info-nano convergent technology they are able to hack into systems in seconds that would take the world’s top supercomputers days or weeks.

8. Alien Robots

  • Aliens AND Robots. Self-explanatory awesomeness.

7. Can physically attack and digitally (wirelessly) hack systems simultaneously and at ultra-high speeds

  • They are amazing at multi-tasking and are capable of total multiple focus (unlike our slow human brains)

6. Can jam signals

  • critical in creating the element of surprise, this disables the enemy’s ability to coordinate defenses

This is a manifesto for my generation : the youngest people using internet computers upon their advent in 1993.

Besides directly relating my experience, these should be applicable tenets for users, entrepreneurs, tech-gurus, creative persons, and independent thinkers of all ages. Please let me know what you like and dislike in the comments and I will review and amend these tenets based on your opinions so we can together create a better Silicon Valley Manifesto.

Without further ado…

ASilicon Valley Man is:

1. A Marketing Conscious ‘Lost Boy‘:

  • One of Google’s favorite customers; frustrated by advertisements for products he is not interested in already or are not entertaining in their own right

2. Concerned with functionality AND form.

  • Cost/Benefit minded– a quality feature set with minimalist design is optimum (this is embodied by Apple Computer which was started in Los Altos, neighboring Mountain View)

3. Self-Sufficient and Independent:

  • Independent thinker free of mainstream media brainwashing; neither believes in nor is engaged by TV/ Radio
  • Despite peer’s feelings of entitlement his generation is among the most self-reliant and resourceful

4. Future-Focused:

  • Ever-evolving, concerned with perpetually refining results in one or more areas of his life

5. Pacifist Altruist Buddhist:

  • Holds a fundamental desire to help and teach the world what he can

6. Neo-Competitor:

  • Video game dominator and VR enthusiast; alternatively physical via extreme sports, Disc golf, Kite-Riding, Windsurfing, Hang-Gliding, etc…

Can Protein Folding be Used to “Code” All-New Physical Growth?

Dialogue between me and my friend Brian (expect more from Brian in the near future):

Brian wants dragonfly wings because:

it would achieve the closest thing to unassisted flight that I would imagine is feasible; it might be kinda noisy I guess, big bug wings…. but that is besides the point. I could fly backwards, forwards, spin, … basically move the same as a hummingbird.

Wouldn’t you just want hummingbird wings?
“No I would rather be able to put a shell over them. Maybe i would have ladybug wings.”

Wouldn’t you rather have some bad ass beetle-type wings? Ladybugs are kinda girly.

“No, they are called [lady bugs] but they are these vicious hunter-killers of [aphids]. Its a good thing bugs are small…think [starship troopers], but that is an entirely different topic.”

Big Bugs!

So… how do you propose you would acquire these new dragonfly wings?
